Sami Hayek

President

Sami Hayek started right out of high school working on an Ensign Drilling rig in Fort Nelson, B.C. Fueled by a longstanding desire to own his own business, he saved every cent possible for two years and started to devise a business plan. At the age of 20 with $80,000 saved up for a down payment, he seized the opportunity to buy a vacuum truck for $300,000. Sami found himself on the path to owning a fleet of trucks, a decision that would mark the birth of Pitbull Energy Services and the beginning of his career as the Founder and President of his own company.

Like his company’s namesake, Sami is loyal and relentless in his pursuit of excellence— a crucial trait in volatile market conditions. He is tireless in his search of new strategies to make Pitbull more profitable, whether it’s taking decisive action to protect the bottom line or chasing innovative ideas and opportunities to grow the business; he will fight for both his employees and clients alike. It’s his ambition that has seen Sami recognized by publications like Alberta Venture and Alberta Oil magazines. It’s his commitment that has built a corporate culture that both fosters and rewards loyalty. And it is Sami’s resiliency that has seen him continuously rise to the occasion to help his company overcome the challenges faced by the oil and gas industry. Today Sami is a proud member of the Business Council of Alberta, Ivey Business School’s Quantum Shift and TEC Canada. Sami is also a health enthusiast, avid reader and in addition to daily meditation, his latest crush is trail running.

Pitbull Energy Services is a market leader with over 120 pieces of equipment and 300 employees servicing Western Canada.
